Abstract

New English translation of the Book of Jubilees based on all mss. and versions then available.

Charles argued that the document was written in Hebrew sometime between 135-105 (during the reign of John Hyrcanus) by an anti-Hasmonaic Pharisee who aimed to "defend Judaism against the attacks of the Hellenistic spirit."
