Paul's Dispute with Barnabas refers to an episode in the life of Paul of Tarsus and the early Church during Paul's Second Missionary Journey, as narrated in the Acts of Apostles (15:35-41).

Overview

According to Acts of Apostles, Paul's Second Missionary Journey stated with a dispute between Paul and Barnabas. Barnabas wanted to take with them John Mark, but Paul was against it. "The disagreement became so sharp that they parted company; Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus. 40 But Paul chose Silas... and went through Syria and Cilicia." (15:39-40).
