Parma is a city in Italy.

Overview

Founded in Etruscan times and then a Roman colony since 183 BCE, the city remained an important center in the region. From 1545 to 1859, Parma was the capital of an independent Ducato, until it was annexed to the newly formed Kingdom of Italy.
