Francis Gigot (1859-1920) was a French American scholar.

Biography

Born in France in 1859, Francis Ernest Charles Gigot was educated at the Institut Catholique de Paris, under Alfred Loisy. After his ordination as a Roman Catholic priest in 1884, Gigot emigrated to America and taught Scripture at St. John's Seminary, Brighton, Massachusetts (1885–1899), then St. Mary's Seminary, Baltimore (1899–1905) and finally, St. Joseph's Seminary, Dunwoodie (1905–1920),
