Walter Bauer (1877-1947) was a German author.
Biography
Josef Holzner was born December 12, 1877 in Dorfen, Upper Bavaria.
After high school, he studied at Rome at the Germanicum Institute of philosophy and theology and was ordained a priest on October 28, 1901.
He was chaplain in World War I, a pastor in Lenggries (Upper Bavaria) and later religion teacher in a Gymnasium in Monaco.
His work on Paul has been one of the most successful biographies on the Apostle.
Holzner died in Munich, Germany on November 8, 1947.
