Ferdinand Prat (1857-1938) was a French scholar.

Biography

Ferdinand Prat was born at La Préterie, Aveyron, in 1857.

A Jesuit priest, philologist and exegete. He studied and from 1907 to 1909, taught NT Exegesis at Beirut, Lebanon. He advocated a greater commitment of Catholics in the historical-critical research on Christian origins.

Prat died in Toulouse [France] in 1938.
