The category: Slovenian, highlights the national and linguistic identity of people, associated with Slovenia and Slovenian language and culture.

Overview

The Slovenes, or Slovenians, are an ethnic group that primarily inhabit Slovenia and speak the Slovenian language (circa 2,500,000).

Most Slovenians today live within the borders of independent Slovenia (circa 1,800,000). There are Slovenian minorities in nearby Italy, Austria, and Croatia, and sizeable populations of immigrants and their descendants in the United States, Germany, and other countries.
