-The first known translation of the New Testament into Albanian is the so-called [[Elbasan Gospel Manuscript]]. The manuscript was written in 1761, probably the work of [[Gregory of Durrës]], the Metropolitan (archbishop) of the Archdiocese of Durrës.
-In 1821 [[Vangjel Meksi]] completed the translation of the New Testament into Albanian, which was posthumously published in 1827.
