Tes Palaias Diathekes hapanta <Greek> / The Complete Old Testament (1840) is a book by Neophytos Vamvas and others.

Abstract

"Ek tou Hevraïkou archetypou eis koinen Helleniken dialekton metaphrasthenta."

Two years after publishing in 1836 his translation of the New Testament, Neophytos Vamvas was able to publish in London also the first complete translation of the Old Testament in Modern Greek. The translation had been actually finished already in 1836, and parts of this version had been printed (and issued separately, in 1831-1838) before the complete book appeared. It was not until 1924 that this version was allowed by the Greek Orthodox Church.

Editions and translations

Published in London [England]: British and Foreign Bible Society, 1840.
