Sextus Vettulenus Cerialis was a Roman military commander and governor of Judea, 70-71 CE.
Overview
Cerialis was of Sabine origins. During the Jewish War, he was in charge of subduing the region of the Idumeans, including the city of Hebron. He also participated in the Siege of Jerusalem as legatus of Legio V Macedonica. He was governor of Judea in the year immediately following the Fall of Jerusalem, 70-71.
