Luigi Monti (1830-1914)
Born in Palermo (Italy), Monti came to the United States in exile to the United States, where he taught Italian at Harvard University (1854-1859). He went back to Italy to join Garibaldi's Mille expedition. In 1873 he returned to Boston an taught in several colleges (Wellesley College, Vassar College, Peabody institute di Baltimora), tnul 1893 when he went back again to Italy, where he died in 1914.
