Theodor Bibliander (Theodor Buchmann; 1506-1564) was a Swiss scholar.

Biography

Orientalist, philologist of Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and Arabic. The father of Biblical research in Switzerland. In his commentary on the Apocalypse (Diligens atque erudita enarratio libri Apocalypseos Ioannis', 1549) maintained the identification of Antichrist with the Papacy.
