Giulio Metti (1816-1874) was an Italian librettist. Born July 9, 1816 in Florence, Italy, in 1839 he was ordained a Catholic priest in the Confederation of Oratorians of St. Philip Neri. In 1862, Metti published a series of "drammi sacri," set to music by Edoardo Soldi, maestro at the Oratorio of S. Filippo Neri in Florence, Italy. In 1872 Metti became bishop of Livorno [Italy], until his death on September 4, 1874.
