August Dillmann (1823-1894) was a German scholar.

Biography

German orientalist and biblical scholar. Revived the study of Ethiopic, cataloging mss. in Paris, London and Oxford. Professor at Tübingen, Kiel, Giessen, and Berlin. Gave crucial contribution to the rediscovery of Jewish pseudepigrapha.
