Magyar Biblia (1685) is a book by György Komáromi Csipkés.

Abstract

A late 17th century revision of the "Vizsolyi Biblia", the first complete translation of the Bible into Hungarian, cp. Szent Biblia (1590 Károli), book.

The title page was printed in 1685, the completion was, however, delayed considerably, and was in fact finished no earlier than 1719. It was printed in 4200 exemplars - most of them has been burned by Catholic authorities in Hungary.

A reprint was issued in 2000.

Editions

Published in Leiden [The Netherlands], 1685 (1719).
