After the death of [[Roland de Vaux]] in September 1971, [[Pierre Benoit]] succeeded him as editor-in-chief of the International Team and the DJD series.
In 1972 Spanish Jesuit scholar [[Jose O'Callagan]] proposed to identify Greek papyri fragments from Cave 7 as portions of the New Testament.
1n 1976 Milik published the Qurman fragments of [[1 Enoch]].
In 1977 the [[Temple Scroll]] (discovered probably in 1956) was first published by [[Yigael Yadin]]. It shifted the emphasis from the theological to the halakhic elements of the scrolls.

After the death of Roland de Vaux in September 1971, Pierre Benoit succeeded him as editor-in-chief of the International Team and the DJD series.

In 1972 Spanish Jesuit scholar Jose O'Callagan proposed to identify Greek papyri fragments from Cave 7 as portions of the New Testament.
