Giuseppe Cozza-Luzi (1837-1905) was an Italian scholar. Born at Bolsena (near Viterbo) [Italy] into a noble family. Still a child, he entered the Basilian monastery of Grottaferrata, where he studied ancient Greek, and of which he became the Abbot (1879-82). Scriptor graecus of the Vatican Library since 1873, in 1882 he moved to Rome as Vice-Librarian. He remained there for twenty years, until his retirement in 1902. During his tenure, he edited the publication of numerous Greek manuscripts, including the Codex Vaticanus of the Bible.
