John Lightfoot (1602-1675), scholar

John Lightfoot (1602-1675) was a British scholar, and a specialist in Second Temple Studies, New Testament Studies, and Early Jewish Studies.

Works

The English churchman and rabbinic scholar John Lightfoot was one of the major contributors to the Walton Polyglot Bible and wrote the first comprehensive commentary of New Testament based on Jewish, mostly halakhic, literature.
