William Whittingham (c1524-1579) was a British scholar.

Biography

Biblical scholar and religious reformer. During his exile in Geneva published (1557-60) a new English translation of the Bible (including the Old Testament Apocrypha). In 1560 returned to England and was dean of Durham.
