Abram Leon Sachar (1899-1993) was an American Jewish scholar.

Biography

Student at Washington University, St. Louis, MS. PhD (1923) at Cambridge University, England. History Professor at the University of Illinois, 1923-1948, and first President of Brandeis University, 1948-1968. One of the leading figures in American Jewry in the 20th century.
