Tarsus (now in Turkey) is a city in Asia Minor, and the capital of Cilicia.

Overview

Tasus is one of the most ancient cities in the region. It was ruled by the Hittites, the Assyrians, the Persians, the Greeks and the Romans.

Tarsus was the birthplace of Paul, and became a major Christian center in the region.
