Alfredo Mordechai Rabello (b.1940), scholar

Alfredo Mordechai Rabello (b.1940) is an Italian-Israeli scholar.

Biography

Alfredo Mordechai Rabello was born at Bologna, Italy on August 12, 1940. During the Nazi occupation of Italy (1943-1945), his family took refuge in Switzerland and went back to Italy at the end of the war. In 1964 Rabello became Dottore in giurisprudenza at the University of Bologna, Italy. In 1965 he emigrated to Israel. In 1972 he became Doctor of Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In the same year he became Lecturer of Roman Law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1979 he became Professor at the Faculty of Law, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 2003 he was honored as "Professor Emeritus" at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Professor Rabello was visiting Professor at Harvard University, Annenberg Research Institute at Philadelphia, and at the Mc Gill Law School, Montreal. Professor Rabello is member of L'Accademia delle Scienze dell'Istituto, Bologna, Societé Internationale des Droits de l’Antiquité (SIDA), International Academy of Comparative Law, Accademia Romanistica Costantiniana, Perugia.
