Arcangelo Agostini (Selvaggio Canturani) (1660c-1745) was an Italian translator. Born in Venice [Italy], joined the Carmelitan Order. Published numerous translations of French works of theology and ethics, under the pseudonym Selvaggio Canturani. Died on December 15, 1746. Arcangelo Agostini played a pivotal role in Italy as a translator of French scholarship in the field (Jacques Bénigne Bousset, Augustin Calmet, Claude Fleury).
