Francesco Zaboglio (1852-1911) -- Catholic Priest

Born in Campodolcino (Sondrio, Italy), Francesco Zaboglio was a Catholic priest and missionary to the United States who was prominent in the Italian American community. In 1888 he joined the Scalabrinians and moved to the United States. In Boston he founded and directed the Chiesa del Sacro Cuore. In 1996-99 he succeeded Pietro Bandini as the second parroco of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in New York City. Due to the consequences a serious accident he had to leave the parish to Antonio Demo and return to Italy, where he died in Como in 1911.
