One of the most successful Horror Films of all time follows the demonic possession of a 12-year-old girl by ''Pazuzu'' (a demon of the Assyrian mythology). The girl's mother attempts to win her back through an exorcism conducted by two priests. In their struggle to free the girl from the thrall of Pazuzu, both priests perish, but she is eventually saved.
The film was so successful that has generated prequels and sequels.
