E. Earle Ellis (1926-2010) was an American biblical scholar. After earning his PhD at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, he taught at Aurora College (1955–58), the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (1958–60), Bethel Theological Seminary (1960–77), New Brunswick Theological Seminary (1977–85). From 1985 he served as Research Professor of Theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
