Sergio Noja (1931-2008) was an Italian scholar.

Biography

Sergio Noja was born July 7, 1931, in Pola [Croatia, then Italy].

After graduating in Economic at the Bocconi University in Milan, he worked as Director General of Philips Italia. Attracted by Islamic Studies, he was appointed Professor of Islamic law at the University of Turin, and then Professor of Arabic language and literature at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore of Milan, where he worked for more than twenty years until his death on January 31, 2008.
