In his voyage from Malta to Rome Paul followed the commercial route with stopovers in Sicily (Syracuse), Calabria (Rhegium), and Campania (Puteoli). In Puteoli Paul found an already established community of believers in Jesus and spent a week there before reaching Rome by land thru the Via Appia.
