Sermon of St. Mark in Alexandria (1507) is a painting by Gentile Bellini and Giovanni Bellini.

Abstract

The gigantic painting (oil on canvas, 347x770cm) was initiated in 1504 by Gentile Bellini. At his death in 1507, it was completed by his brother Giovanni Bellini.

History and current location

Milan [Italy]: Pinacoteca di Brera. Originally commissioned by the Scuola Grande di San Marco in Venice [Italy], it was made between 1504 and 1507.
