Konstandin Kristoforidhi (1827–1895) was an Albanian scholar.
Biography
Kostandin Kristoforidhi was born in 1827 at Elbasan [Albania], then part of the Ottoman Empire.
Kristoforidhi was a Christian Orthodox scholar, and philologist. He studied at the University of Athens and was fluent in Ancient Greek, Latin, and Hebrew. His knowledge of modern languages was equally vast, including Albanian, Modern Greek, English, Italian, Turkish, Bulgarian, Arabic and French.
In 1857 he began his collaboration with British Biblical Society and was the author of translations of the New Testament and other Biblical books into Albanian.
He died in 1895 at Elbasan [Albania].
