John Lightfoot (1602-1675) was a British scholar.
Biography
English churchman and rabbinic scholar. Vice-chancellor of Cambridge University. One of the major contributors to the Walton Polyglot Bible. Wrote first comprehensive commentary of New Testament based on Jewish, mostly halakhic, literature.
