Amahl and the Night Visitors (1952) is a novel by Frances Frost. Based on Amahl and the Night Visitors (1951 Menotti), opera.

Editions and translations

Published in the United States (New York,NY: 1952), with illustration by Roger Duvoisin. Translated into French, German and Spanish. Reissued with great success in the 1980s, with illustrations by Michele Lemieux.

Abstract

Juvenile literature. Very popular narrative adaptation of Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera by American poet and novelist preserves the exact dialogue of the libretto.
