Ben-Hur (1959) is a film directed by William Wyler.

Abstract

Hugely successful movie won a record 11 Oscars, including Best Picture. The remake follows the original pretty closely, offering only indirect glimpses of Jesus and focusing on the political and religious antagonism between Ben-Hur and Messala. Starring Charlton Heston (Ben-Hur), Stephen Boyd (Messala), and Haya Harareet (Esther).
