Ervin Bogner (M / Slovakia, 1937-2017), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Ervin Bogner was born in 1937 in Liptovsky Svaty Miklulas in Slovakia.

During the war, his father was deported and murdered. Ervin survived in hiding with his mother, pretending to be Germans and spending time in the forest.

After the war, his mother traveled illegally to Palestine. Ervin, who was temporarily hosted in a children's home, was supposed to follow soon. We went instead to England in March 1946 with the Belgicka Children. When he eventually went to Israel in 1949, his mother had remarried and he was housed in a Youth Aliyah camp at Ramat Hadassah.

He lived in Israel working as head gardener on Kibbutz Ein Herod. Died in 2017.
