A poet and novelist in Italian, English and his native dialect, he lived in France before moving to North America, where he taught at New York University, Sarah Lawrence, Yale, British Columbia, UCLA and finally (the last 22 years) at SUNY at Albany, until his retirement. Giose Rimanelli won the ABA award in 1994.

Giose Rimanelli was born on November 28, 1926 in Casacalenda, Molise, Italy. A poet and novelist in Italian, English and his native dialect, he lived in France before moving to North America, where he taught at New York University, Sarah Lawrence, Yale, British Columbia, UCLA and finally (the last 22 years) at SUNY at Albany, until his retirement.
