Anthony Maraschi (1820-1897) -- Jesuit priest
Born in Pedmont (Italy), Maraschi joined the Jesuits and was ordained a priest in entered the Jesuit Order in 1849. He came as a professor to the United States in several colleges. In 1855 he was the Founder and first President of the University of San Francisco (1855-1862). He was also the first pastor of Saint Ignatius Church in San Francisco, CA. Died in San Francisco, CA.
