Alessandro Liberati (1847-1927) -- Cornet player & Bandmaster

Born in Frascati (Italy), Liberati was a cornet virtuoso since he was a child. In 1864 he enlisted in the Papal Body Guard in the Vatican. From 1866 to 1872, Liberati performed throughout Italy whilst conducting bands and teaching the cornet. In 1872, he moved to Canada and in 1875 to the United States as the director of the Michigan National Guard Band and Detroit's police bugle. He performed all around the States. In 1889, he formed his own band: "The World Renowned Liberati Band". Died in New York.
