==Abstract==
[[Category:Hermeneia (series)|Ezra]]

Stone rejected the documentary hypothesis in the composition of 4 Ezra and strongly advocated the unity of the text.

4 Ezra is not a literary representation of a theological debate external to the author; it is rather a reflection of his own divided mind, of his own internal struggle. "The religious experiences described in 4 Ezra... were the actual experiences of the author" (p.33).
