== Overview == | |||
A feral child (or wild child) is a young individual who has lived isolated from human contact from a very young age, and so has had little or no experience of human care, behavior, or human language. They are sometimes the subjects of folklore and legends, typically portrayed as having been raised by animals. There are several confirmed cases and at least two movies dealing with them: ''L’enfant sauvage'' (Truffaut, 1970), and ''Entrelobos'' (Olivares, 2010).
Tarzan is a fictional character of an English child raised by apes in the African jungle. [[Bomba the Jungle Boy]] and [[George of the Jungle]] are variations of the same characters.
Mowgli also is a fictional character of a native boy raised by wolves in the Asian jungle. He was created by Kipling.
There are then many movies dealing with hunters and adventures who have learned to live in the jungle.
Another variant are stories of survival of civilized individuals lost in the wilderness.

Tarzan / George of the Jungle / Bomba the Jungle Boy (Edgar Rice Burroughs, 1910), novel
- See also Mowgli -- Jungle Jim -- Congo Bill -- Ramar of the Jungle
Overview
A feral child (or wild child) is a young individual who has lived isolated from human contact from a very young age, and so has had little or no experience of human care, behavior, or human language. They are sometimes the subjects of folklore and legends, typically portrayed as having been raised by animals. There are several confirmed cases and at least two movies dealing with them: L’enfant sauvage (Truffaut, 1970), and Entrelobos (Olivares, 2010).
Tarzan is a fictional character of an English child raised by apes in the African jungle. Bomba the Jungle Boy and George of the Jungle are variations of the same characters.
Mowgli also is a fictional character of a native boy raised by wolves in the Asian jungle. He was created by Kipling.
There are then many movies dealing with hunters and adventures who have learned to live in the jungle.
Another variant are stories of survival of civilized individuals lost in the wilderness.
