Translation of the 1st part of Hitler's ''Mein Kampf'' (1925). The 2nd part had already been published in 1934 under the title ''[:File:1934 Hitler 1 it.jpg|La mia battaglia]''.
The publication of Hitler's ''Mein Kampf'' was promoted by Benito Mussolini himself as part as a sustained antisemitic campaign that would lead to the promulgation of the Racial Laws in 1938. Ironically, the translator of the 1934 volume, Angelo Treves, was a Jew and communist, and his name could not be mentioned as Hitler had explicitly required that the translator be a non-Jewish Italian. The translator of the 1938 volume was now a non-Jew, but a Waldensian, married with a Jew, and an antifascist.

Abstract

Translation of the 1st part of Hitler's Mein Kampf (1925). The 2nd part had already been published in 1934 under the title [:File:1934 Hitler 1 it.jpg|La mia battaglia].

The publication of Hitler's Mein Kampf was promoted by Benito Mussolini himself as part as a sustained antisemitic campaign that would lead to the promulgation of the Racial Laws in 1938.
