James Bovell (1817-1880) was a Canadian scholar.

Biography

Physician, educator, clergyman. Born in Barbados, studied medicine in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dublin. In 1850 moved to Toronto to teach medicine at various Universities, being also active in the Church. In 1871 returned to the West Indies as a minister.
