Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) was a British composer. Born on November 22, 1913 in Lowestoft, Suffolk [England]. The most celebrated British composer of the 20th century, Britten composed in the 1960s three Parables for Church Performances--Curlew River (1964), The Burning Fiery Furnace (1966), and The Prodigal Son (1968). Died in Aldeburgh [England] on December 4, 1976.
