Erodiade <Italian> / Herodias (1832) is a play by Silvio Pellico.

Abstract

The tragedy in five acts focuses on the relationship between Herod Antipas and Herodias. Salome is still a marginal (and unnamed) character in the story, simply introduced as "a ten- or twelve-year-old child." The protagonist of the killing of John the Baptist is still Herodias, like in the original biblical narrative.
