Ben-Hur (1959) is a feature film (sound, color, 212) directed by William Wyler. Music by Miklós Rózsa; see Ben-Hur (1959 Rózsa), film music.

Abstract

Hugely successful movie won a record 11 Oscars, including Best Picture. The remake follows the original pretty closely, offering only indirect glimpses of Jesus and focusing on the political and religious antagonism between Ben-Hur and Messala.
