Emeritus Professor in the Faculty of Theology, Dept. of Biblical Studies. He is also director, since 1992, of the [[Groningen Qumran Institute]] for Research into the Dead Sea Scrolls and Ancient Judaism at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands).

Florentino García Martínez (b.1942) is a Spanish scholar, at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium. Born in Mochales, Molina de Aragón (Spain) in 1942. Emeritus Professor in the Faculty of Theology, Dept. of Biblical Studies.
