Otto E. Neugebauer (1899-1990) was an Austrian American scholar. One of the greatest mathematicians of the 20th century, was also an expert in ancient Middle Eastern languages and the leading specialist in the history of astronomy in antiquity. Born in Innsbruck, Austria, Neugebauer studied at the Universities of Graz, Munich, Göttingen, and Copenhagen.
