Editions of the Masoretic text (Rabbinic Bibles)
The first complete printed edition of the Hebrew Bible, based on the Ben Asher text, was published by Joshua Solomon ben Israel Soncino in 1488. A second edition was printed in 1494 at Brescia by Gerson ben Mose of Soncino; Martin Luther based its translation of the Old Testament on this edition.
