La saincte Bible en Francoys / The Holy Bible in French (1532) is a book by Jacques Lefèvre d'Étaples.
Abstract
"La saincte Bible en Francoys, translatee selon la pure et entiere traduction de Sainct Hierome : conferee et entierement reuisitee selon les plus anciens et plus correctz exemplaires : ou sus vng chascun chapitre est mis brief argume[n]t : auec plusieurs figures et histoires : aussy les concordances en marge au dessus des estoilles, diligemment reuisitees : auec ce sont deux tables : lune pour les matieres des deux Testame[n]tz : lautre pour trouuer toutes les Epistres : tant de Lancien comme du Nouueau Testament [et] les Euangiles : qui sont leutes en leglise par toute lannee : tant es Dime[n]ches co[m]me es iours feriauly et festes."
It was the first complete edition of the Catholic Bible in French. The translation of the entire Bible (including the OT Apocrypha) was based on the Vulgate, but for the New Testament the Author took into some consideration also the original Greek.
