Abraham J. Malherbe (1930-2012) was an South-African American scholar. Abraham J. Malherbe was born in Pretoria, South Africa, on May 15, 1930. He moved to the United States in 1951. After graduating from Abilene Christian University, he earned his STB (1957) and ThD (1963 from Harvard University. He taught at Abilene Christian University (1963-69), Dartmouth (1969-70), and Yale (1970-94) where he was professor of New Testament Criticism and Literature. Malherbe died September 28, 2012 at Hamden, CT.
