Giuseppe Cozza-Luzi (1837-1905) was an Italian scholar.Giuseppe Cozza-Luzi was born at Bolsena (near Viterbo) [Italy] on December 4, 1837, into a noble family.
Still a child, he entered the Basilian monastery of Grottaferrata, where he studied ancient Greek, and of which he became the Abbot (1879-82).
Scriptor graecus of the Vatican Library since 1873, in 1882 he moved to Rome as Vice-Librarian. He remained there for twenty years, until his retirement in 1902. During his tenure, he edited the publication of numerous Greek manuscripts, including the Codex Vaticanus of the Bible.
He died in Bolsena [Italy] on June 1, 1905.
